City of Monroe Zone 3 Residential 2012 Energy Code Requirements

* New Sprinkler Requirements for Nightclubs go into effect January 1, 2011

The City of Monroe Inspections Department ensures compliance with the 2012 North Carolina Building Code based on the 2009 International Code, and the 2011 National Electrical Code with the North Carolina amendments

 

 

 

Specific Design Criteria:

  • Wind Load — 90 MPH
  • Ground Snow Load — 10 PSF
  • Seismic Design Category — Dependent upon site class and occupancy category

Requirements for Residential Permits:

New Homes – 1 set of 24″ x 36″ plans as well as digital copy of plans

Requirements for Commercial Projects;

  • Four (4) sets of sealed building plans (including site plan)
  • Two (2) additional site plans
  • Digital Copy of FULL set of plans, including site plan and elevations
